Volleyball Recap: Nolan Wood Key Part of Team Effort in Red Devils Win

There's no place like home for Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Proctor Raiders 3-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in January.

Vernon-Verona-Sherrill wouldn't go down easily and took Proctor into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-16, 27-29, 25-21, 15-12.

Vernon-Verona-Sherrill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nolan Wood led the charge by getting 46 assists and eight digs. Wood is crushing it when it comes to assists: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Berberick, who had 14 digs and three aces.

Vernon-Verona-Sherrill's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Proctor, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.
