Softball Recap: Taylorsville Gets the Win

While Taylorsville's win against Hunter wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Wolverines on Tuesday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Aleya Wegner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Megan Sterzer, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Tianna Hansen was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Taylorsville's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Hunter, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.
