Baseball Recap: Hamburg Triumphs

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Hamburg ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tulpehocken Trojans, sneaking past 11-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hawks have posted since April 14, 2025.

Aaron Rodriguez made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over 4.2 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Blaise Ernst was incredible, going 2-for-5 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Jediel Rosario also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Hamburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tulpehocken only managed eight.

Hamburg is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Tulpehocken, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Hamburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tulpehocken, they will challenge Annville-Cleona at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
