If Winn wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Vela, they should've done a better job of containing Jordan Bustamante. The Sabercats managed a 65-59 win over the Mavericks on Saturday thanks in part to Bustamante, who almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine boards. The contest was his 12th in a row with at least 17 points.

Another player making a difference was Carlos Vazquez, who shot 46% from the field on his way to 18 points. He is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 46% in the last three games he's played.

Winn's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rodrigo Balbuena, who went 5-for-12 en route to 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Austin Aguilera was another key player, shooting 70% from the field to rack up 16 points.

Vela's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Winn, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

Vela wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 72-59 loss against United on the 9th. As for Winn, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-43 defeat against South San Antonio on the 9th.
