Basketball Game Preview: Citrus Hill Hawks vs. Wilson Wildcats

The Citrus Hill Hawks will head out to challenge the Wilson Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Citrus Hill is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Katella as Citrus Hill made off with a 65-43 victory. The score was close at the half, but the Hawks pulled away in the second half with 43 points.

Jerren White was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 18 points and 17 boards. He has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 33 times he's played. Kannon Steward was another key player, putting up 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists.

Citrus Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 18 consecutive matches.

Big Bear typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Wilson proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Bears by a score of 67-60. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Wilson pushed their record up to 19-12 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points over those games. As for Citrus Hill, their victory bumped their record up to 18-12.
