The Freedom Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Bethlehem Catholic Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bethlehem Catholic took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Freedom, who comes in off a win.
Freedom will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Phillipsburg on Monday. The Patriots walked away with a 13-8 win over the Stateliners.
Ryan Kullman was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, John Phillips was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April of 2024. Michael Cobb was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Bethlehem Catholic came up short against Nazareth Area on Friday and fell 8-4. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Bethlehem Catholic saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joseph Casciano, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Another was Caden Deegan, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Freedom pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Bethlehem Catholic, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
Everything went Freedom's way against Bethlehem Catholic in their previous matchup on April 8th, as Freedom made off with a 16-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
