The Knoch Knights will square off against the Karns City Gremlins at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Knoch will be looking to extend their current 16-game winning streak.
On Thursday, Knoch got the win against Burrell by a conclusive 13-3. Considering the Knights have won 15 matches by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Emersyn Jones made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one home run and five RBI.
In other batting news, McKenna Brailey was excellent, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Lizzie Danik, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two RBI.
Knoch hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Karns City, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over Redbank Valley on Monday. The Gremlins haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.
Addison Burrows spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ronni Radaker, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Knoch pushed their record up to 17-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Karns City, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.
Knoch beat Karns City 5-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2023. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Gremlins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
