            Volleyball Recap: St. John Tigers vs. Phillipsburg Panthers        
        
		
        
        
            St. John hadn't done well against Phillipsburg recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Saturday. The Tigers came out on top against the Panthers by a score of  2-0. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
 St. John easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-10,  25-16.
 Jalyn Fisher paced St. John's offense, picking up seven kills. Fisher got some help from  Lainey Peterson and her eight assists. Finally,  Gentri Bright kept St. John's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

St. John's win was  their fourth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 12-10-1. As for Phillipsburg, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record  this season.
 St. John has already played their next matchup,  a  2-0  loss against Hoisington on the 27th. As for Phillipsburg, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  match,  a  2-1  defeat against Smith Center on the 27th.
