Softball Recap: Belleview's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Belleview had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Lake Weir Hurricanes. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-3 back in March.

Ya'Mari Reynolds spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Belleview's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Cobb, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Ally Axe was another, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Belleview's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Lake Weir, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-20.

Belleview didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 14-11 win against Forest on the 16th. As for Lake Weir, they will head out to take on Dunnellon at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
