Winfield faced Point Pleasant in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Generals never let the Big Blacks get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. Considering the Generals have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The win (which was Winfield's fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Point Pleasant, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.

Coming up, Winfield will take on Riverside at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Generals are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Point Pleasant, they will challenge South Charleston at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
