Calhoun won against Heritage last Friday with 35 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. Everything went the Yellow Jackets' way against the LaFayette Ramblers as they made off with a 35-9 win. The result was nothing new for the Yellow Jackets, who have now won seven contests by 22 points or more so far this season.

Calhoun's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justin Beasley, who picked up 103 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Beasley is crushing it when it comes to receiving yards: he's posted at least 100 every time he's taken the field this season. Hudson Chadwick was another key back, rushing for 42 yards and two touchdowns.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Calhoun proved: they limited LaFayette to a paltry 1.6 yards per carry. While two picked up at least two total tackles, Richard Clavino stood above the rest. He made two total tackles. Calhoun didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.4.

The win was the sixth in a row for Calhoun, bringing their record up to 8-2. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.5 points on average over those games. As for LaFayette, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Calhoun will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Lumpkin County at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. LaFayette does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
