Basketball Recap: Riverton Parke Takes a Loss

Riverton Parke lost against North Vermillion back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Riverton Parke Panthers took a 47-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Vermillion Falcons.

Despite the defeat, Riverton Parke saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jacee Stonebraker almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stonebraker has scored all season. Corinne Loomis was another key player, putting up eight points along with five boards and three steals.

North Vermillion's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nora Thomann, who went 10 of 14 on her way to 21 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cadence Dunham, who posted nine points in addition to seven boards and five steals.

Riverton Parke's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-6. As for North Vermillion, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-5.

Riverton Parke wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 62-55 defeat against South Putnam on the 13th. As for North Vermillion, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 51-38 loss against West Lafayette on the 11th.
