Basketball Game Preview: North Brunswick Scorpions vs. Heide Trask Titans

The North Brunswick Scorpions just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Heide Trask Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

North Brunswick is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat South Brunswick 81-44. The victory was some much needed relief for the Scorpions as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Heide Trask won against East Bladen on Tuesday with 61 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. Heide Trask secured a 61-57 W over South Columbus. Winning may never get old, but the Titans sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

North Brunswick better focus on containing Trey Paffenroth and Gio Driggers as the pair were huge in Heide Trask's win. Paffenroth went 9 of 15 en route to 20 points along with five assists and five boards, while Driggers dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 boards. What's more, Driggers also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Trey Cheatam, who posted eight points.

Heide Trask has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for North Brunswick, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.

North Brunswick beat Heide Trask 73-66 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Heide Trask's Myron Mckoy, who had 20 points in addition to seven assists and five boards.
