Soccer Game Preview: Ledford vs. Oak Grove

Ledford hasn't had much luck against Oak Grove recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Grizzlies at 6:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Ledford is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Monday. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Montgomery Central. That's two games in a row now that Ledford have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Oak Grove fought the good fight in their overtime game against North Davidson on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Black Knights by a score of 2-1. Oak Grove's defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Their goal came courtesy of Katherine Lockamy, who's now up to 23 this season.

Ledford's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Oak Grove, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 9-7-2.

Ledford suffered a grim 6-1 defeat to Oak Grove when the teams last played on April 8th. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Panthers were down 4-1.
