Football Recap: Keystone Piles Up the Points Against Moniteau

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Keystone). They blew past the Moniteau Warriors 62-8 on Friday. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-0.

Keystone's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dom Corcetti led the charge by rushing for 51 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries, while also throwing for 108 yards and three TDs while completing 80% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Corcetti a new career-high in passer rating (160.4). Keystone also got a significant boost from Landon Mohney, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 101 yards.

Keystone didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Eli Nellis.

Keystone now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Moniteau, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Keystone will host Brockway at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rovers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Moniteau, they will welcome Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Moniteau's defense better be ready for this one: Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley has averaged an impressive 26.4 points per game this season.
