Volleyball Recap: Florence Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Florence waltzed into their match on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Coolidge Bears 3-0. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 3-1 victory last Monday.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Florence was: they took every set by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-7, 25-12.

Leading Florence to victory were Lexie Hoffman and Aaliyah Street. Hoffman had 12 digs and one assist, while Street had nine assists and three aces. Street is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served three or more in each of the last three games she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Florence was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in five consecutive matchups.

Florence's win bumped their record up to 27-10. As for Coolidge, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.
