Basketball Recap: Parkview Triumphs

It was a proper cat-fight when Parkview duked it out with Duluth on Friday. The Panthers walked away with a 41-28 win over the Wildcats. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won five in a row.

It was another big night for Corrin Sevier, who posted 15 points along with eight boards and four steals. Those eight rebounds gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Baileigh Page, who scored seven points and three steals.

Parkview smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Duluth lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kaylie Zirger, who earned 12 points and eight boards. Divine Ige was another key player, putting up five points and nine rebounds.

Parkview's record is now 4-2. As for Duluth, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Parkview will square off against Brookwood at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Broncos have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Duluth, they will face off against Peachtree Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
