Basketball Game Preview: Alamogordo Tigers vs. Cathedral Fighting Irish

Having just played yesterday, the Alamogordo Tigers will get right back to it and host the Cathedral Fighting Irish at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Alamogordo is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Lovington just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 45-34 loss to the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, Cathedral didn't have quite enough to beat San Elizario on Saturday and fell 38-36. The Fighting Irish have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alamogordo now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Cathedral, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.

Alamogordo came up short against Cathedral in their previous meeting back in January of 2016, falling 41-36. Can Alamogordo avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
