Soccer Game Preview: Coronado vs. Montwood

The Coronado Thunderbirds will head out to square off against the Montwood Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was Pebble Hills who was credited with the win on Tuesday. The Spartans got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Coronado's four. The loss was Coronado's first of the season.

Montwood fell victim to Pebble Hills and their airtight defense on Friday. They lost 3-0 to the Spartans. The defeat continues a trend for Montwood in their meetings with Pebble Hills: they've now lost eight in a row.

Having lost for the first time this season, Coronado fell to 15-1. As for Montwood, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10-1.

Coronado might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Montwood in their previous meeting back in February of 2025. Can the Thunderbirds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
