Basketball Recap: New Braunfels Takes a Loss

New Braunfels lost against Wagner back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The New Braunfels Unicorns fell 69-61 to the Wagner Thunderbirds. While losing is never fun, the Unicorns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while the Thunderbirds are ranked 31st).

Wagner's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trevaun Clark, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Jackson, who went 5 for 8 en route to 15 points.

New Braunfels' defeat dropped their record down to 17-11. As for Wagner, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 20-7.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Tivy the next time they take the court. New Braunfels will head out to face Tivy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while Wagner will host them at 6:30 p.m. on January 21st.
