Soccer Game Preview: Hume-Fogg vs. Lawson

The Hume-Fogg Blue Knights are taking a road trip to challenge the Lawson Lightning at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hume-Fogg is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.8 goals per game this season.

Hume-Fogg is headed into the contest having not lost since March 27 and will look to keep things rolling. They were the clear victors by a 5-2 margin over LEAD Academy on Thursday. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Hume-Fogg's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 70th, while LEAD Academy are ranked 230th).

Hume-Fogg's offense was hitting LEAD Academy from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, Lawson was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Antioch.

Hume-Fogg is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four contests. As for Lawson, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Hume-Fogg might still be hurting after the 4-1 loss they got from Lawson in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Blue Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
