Basketball Recap: Spooner Takes a Loss

If Spooner was riding high fresh off their 83-40 takedown of South Shore last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spooner Rails received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 87-73 to the Chetek-Weyerhaeuser Bulldogs. The loss continues a trend for the Rails in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.

Spooner's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Chetek-Weyerhaeuser, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-3.

Spooner will head out on the road to face off against Ashland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Chetek-Weyerhaeuser, they will face off against Barron at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Barron knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Chetek-Weyerhaeuser likes a good challenge.
