Baseball Recap: Goshen Comes Up Short

If Goshen was feeling good fresh off their 10-3 takedown of Jimtown on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The RedHawks took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Prairie Cougars on Thursday. The RedHawks haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Quinn Shreiner Landes and Braxton Cline did some serious damage despite the final result: Shreiner Landes got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI, while Cline got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Rapp, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Goshen now has a losing record of 1-2. As for New Prairie, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Goshen will take on La Porte at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for New Prairie, they will challenge South Central at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
