Soccer Game Preview: Saratoga vs. Lynbrook

The Saratoga Falcons will head out to challenge the Lynbrook Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Saratoga's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Monta Vista 3-0. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Falcons' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 748th, while the Matadors are ranked 225th).

Akash Gupta and Finn Smith scored all three of Saratoga's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

While Lynbrook didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-12-3), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Cupertino 1-0. That's two games straight that the Vikings have won by just one goal.

Saratoga's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-1-1 and their overall record up to 4-4-2. As for Lynbrook, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
