Softball Recap: Northport Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

Northport's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the North Babylon Bulldogs an 8-0 shutout. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.

Northport has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for North Babylon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Northport is set to face off against their familiar foe Huntington at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, North Babylon will take on rival Smithtown East at 7:30 p.m. on the 10th.
