Flag Football Recap: Vanessa Fregoso Key Part of Team Effort in Patriots Win

Temecula Prep won the last time they faced California Military Institute and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Patriots put the hurt on the Rough Riders with a sharp 34-8 victory. With the Patriots ahead 28-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Temecula Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Vanessa Fregoso, who threw for 155 yards and three touchdowns while completing 90.9% of her passes. The dominant performance also gave Fregoso a new career-high in passer rating (169.5). Amina Antoine was another key pass catcher, picking up 45 receiving yards and one TD.

Temecula Prep didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Samiyah Antoine led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself. Bailey Litt got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Temecula Prep is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 5.3 points on average over those games. As for California Military Institute, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Coming up, Temecula Prep will face off against San Jacinto Valley Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for California Military Institute, they will challenge Nuview Bridge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rough Riders will be up against the Knights' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
