Basketball Recap: Deerfield Beach Extends Winning Streak to Three

After losing to Hallandale the last time they met, Deerfield Beach decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Deerfield Beach Bucks enjoyed a cozy 66-49 win over the Hallandale Chargers on Monday. While the Bucks didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Despite the loss, Hallandale still got an impressive performance from Alex Valencia, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 19 points and four steals. Walter Williams was another key player, putting up nine points and five boards.

The victory was the third in a row for Deerfield Beach, bringing their record for this year to 6-1. As for Hallandale, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Monarch the next time they take the court. Hallandale will head out to face Monarch at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Deerfield Beach will head out to face them at 3:40 p.m. on Thursday.
