Baseball Game Preview: White Plains Wildcats vs. Cleburne County Tigers

The White Plains Wildcats will face off against the Cleburne County Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for White Plains and four for Cleburne County.

It was a proper cat-fight when White Plains duked it out with Handley on Saturday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 7-6. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by just one run.

Meanwhile, Cleburne County didn't have quite enough to beat Pell City on Friday and fell 4-3.

Cleburne County got a good showing from Jacob Pentecost, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Pentecost a new career-low.

At the plate, Gavin Robinson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Cleburne County's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for White Plains, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-13.

White Plains took their win against Cleburne County when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-3 score. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
