Baseball Recap: Carlos Victorero Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat TERRA Environmental

Hialeah Gardens took a 15-run defeat the last time they faced off against TERRA Environmental, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Hialeah Gardens Gladiators' pitcher stepped up to hand TERRA Environmental a 2-0 shutout on Friday. This was payback for the Gladiators, who suffered a 15-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

The result came thanks to Ryan Valdes's shutout, as he gave up just two hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Hialeah Gardens is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 2-8 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Hialeah Gardens saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carlos Victorero, who went 1-for-2 with one double. Lucas Navarrete also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Hialeah Gardens' win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for TERRA Environmental, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-6-1.

Coming up, Hialeah Gardens will challenge Coral Park at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for TERRA Environmental, they will host Coral Reef at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
