Basketball Recap: Memorial Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Tahlequah came into Thursday's match looking for another win against Memorial, but Jayelynn Doan wouldn't allow it. The Memorial Chargers came out on top against the Tahlequah Tigers by a score of 65-56 on Thursday thanks in part to Doan, who went 9 of 13 from beyond the arc on her way to 30 points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Mataya Hall, who posted 12 points along with five assists and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

Memorial's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6. As for Tahlequah, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-3.

Memorial didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-54 loss against Cascia Hall on the 20th. After both having extra time off, Tahlequah and Pryor will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
