Elkhart had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Oakwood Panthers on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Elks in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won eight in a row.

Elkhart walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-18, 25-12, 25-16.

Their offense was headlined by Layla Walding and Marisa Denney, who picked up eight kills apiece. Walding also shared the team's lead in assists with Mallari Pittman: they picked up 12 each. Walding was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Elkhart will be taking part in a tournament against Central Heights at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Oakwood, they will be playing at home against Kemp at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
