Basketball Recap: Ash Grove Takes a Loss

Ash Grove has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 48-38 to the Macks Creek Pirates on Thursday. The matchup marked Ash Grove's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Macks Creek got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Addison Ratliff out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards. Those 12 boards gave Ratliff a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of India Willis, who posted 12 points in addition to six boards and five steals.

Ash Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Macks Creek, their record is now 11-2.

Ash Grove will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Chadwick at 6:00 p.m. on January 6th. One thing working in Chadwick's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Macks Creek, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 59-53 victory against Sparta on the 28th.
