Baseball Recap: Oak Forest Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, Oak Forest finally came back down to earth on Friday. They fell just short of the Sandburg Eagles by a score of 2-1. The Bengals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2016.

Oak Forest moved to 13-9-1 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Sandburg, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oak Forest will challenge Bradley-Bourbonnais at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bengals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Boilermakers have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Sandburg, they will face off against Marian Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
