The Greenbrier Christian Academy Gators will square off against the Brunswick Academy Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Greenbrier Christian Academy sitting on six straight victories and Brunswick Academy on five.
Greenbrier Christian Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They put the hurt on Fuqua with a sharp 11-2 win. The Gators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 20 contests by seven runs or more this season.
Katelyn Balka spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Peyton Moran, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Bayleigh Kaliher was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Greenbrier Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, while Brunswick Academy put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Kenston Forest. The Vikings walked away with a 5-0 victory over the Kavaliers.
Emily August-Faith King made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. King was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Lexi Vaughan Howerton was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Caylen Jackson, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Greenbrier Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 26-2. As for Brunswick Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 18-5.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Greenbrier Christian Academy has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11 hits per game. However, it's not like Brunswick Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Greenbrier Christian Academy couldn't quite get it done against Brunswick Academy when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 5-1. Can the Gators avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
