Baseball Recap: Beaver Drops Highest Score of Season Against Millard

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Beaver). They put the hurt on the Millard Eagles with a sharp 16-1 win on Tuesday. The Beavers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Andrew Hollingshead made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Raider Blomquist, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gabe Robinson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Beaver's win bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Millard, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-12.

Coming up, Millard will take on North Sanpete at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Beaver will be paying especially close attention to the Eagles' game: after the Eagles faces off against the Hawks, they'll take on Beaver again at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
