Volleyball Game Preview: Monrovia Bulldogs vs. Irvington Preparatory Academy

The Monrovia Bulldogs will square off against Irvington Preparatory Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Irvington Preparatory Academy took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Monrovia, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, Monrovia made easy work of Beech Grove and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won three in a row.

Monrovia not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Beech Grove between 15 and 18 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-18, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Irvington Preparatory Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wabash Valley HomeSchool.

Irvington Preparatory Academy was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-13.

Despite the defeat, Irvington Preparatory Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore John Curry had 12 digs.

Irvington Preparatory Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Monrovia, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
