Football Game Preview: Nevada Union Miners vs. Antioch Panthers

The Nevada Union Miners will venture away from home to square off against the Antioch Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Nevada Union's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Rhyder Eelkema, who rushed for 148 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries, and Brandon McCallum, who rushed for 138 yards and one TD. Eelkema's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 131 rushing yards.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Antioch duked it out with Del Campo on Friday. The Panthers enjoyed a cozy 37-20 win over the Cougars. The Panthers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Nevada Union better keep an eye on Joshua Mason. He was instrumental in Antioch's win, rushing for 117 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 35 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Antioch was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 353 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Antioch's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.7 points on average over those games. As for Nevada Union, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
