Basketball Recap: Silas Lofton Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Horatio

Legacy Academy fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 76-68 win over the Horatio Lions on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Warriors also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.

Legacy Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Silas Lofton out in front who went 8 for 16 on his way to 23 points. The dominant performance gave Lofton a new career-high in points. James Bartek was another key player, putting up 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Legacy Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Legacy Academy's win bumped their record up to 11-19. As for Horatio, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Legacy Academy has already played their next game, a 57-50 victory against Non Varsity Opponent on the 3rd. Horatio has also already played their next contest (against Mountain Pine), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
