Baseball Recap: Boonville Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Boonville and Southridge, and Southridge kept the tradition alive. The Pioneers fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 7-5 on Tuesday. The Pioneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Boonville saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ian Wahl, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Another was Tyler Rinehart, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Boonville has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Southridge, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-12.

Boonville has already played their next match, a 14-2 defeat against South Spencer on the 22nd. As for Southridge, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-0 win against Northeast Dubois on the 21st.
