Compton put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. Everything went their way against the Inglewood Sentinels as the Compton Tarbabes made off with a 16-4 win. While the Tarbabes didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Marcos Reveles looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Anthony Lopez and Bobby Carrasco did most of the damage at the plate: Lopez scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Carrasco scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. What's more, Lopez posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Victor Contreras, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Compton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Inglewood only posted an OBP of .312.
Compton's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.7 runs over those games. As for Inglewood, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.
Compton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 13-0 defeat against Millikan on the 14th. As for Inglewood, they have also already played their next matchup, a 19-3 loss against Fremont on the 8th.
