The biggest upset of the week belonged to Randolph, who took down 115th ranked Portville, 42-6.
Kyle Mayer and Jeremiah Russin provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Frewsburg. The connection went for 62 yards, the longest such play in Section 6 D this season.
Chautauqua Lake's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Mayer threw for 67 and one touchdown and Russin had 62 yards receiving. On the ground Nick Zentz chipped in 117 yards. Zentz helped Chautauqua Lake's passing attack out by catching one ball for three yards.
Chautauqua Lake's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Thunderbirds feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Mayer has thrown for 286 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Russin has two catches for 92 yards. Adam Carpenter leads the league in rushing with 428 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Thunderbirds take on the Cardinals. Chautauqua Lake is in second place, while Randolph is in third place.
Maple Grove extended the longest winning streak in Section 6 D this week by beating International Prep at Grover, 38-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
