Basketball Game Preview: Central Catholic Buttons vs. Antonian Prep Apaches

Central Catholic hasn't had much luck against Antonian Prep recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Central Catholic Buttons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Antonian Prep Apaches at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Central Catholic took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 44-36 victory over Savio. Given the Buttons' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 218th, while the Eagles are ranked 970th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Antonian Prep made easy work of TMI-Episcopal on Friday and carried off a 72-48 win. The Apaches have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Antonian Prep has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 29-4 record this season. As for Central Catholic, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 17-8.
