Softball Recap: Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Extends Winning Streak to Five

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past the Averill Park Warriors 2-1. The win was nothing new for the Spartans as they're now sitting on five straight.

Ava Yahoudy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jada Leggieri, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake's victory bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Averill Park, they moved to 14-7 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
