Soccer Game Preview: Lutheran vs. Palmer Ridge

The Lutheran Lions will face off against the Palmer Ridge Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Lutheran is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Cheyenne Mountain just ended the team's four-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Red-Tailed Hawks by a score of 1-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, Lutheran haven't been shut out since back in August.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Palmer Ridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against Discovery Canyon by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Palmer Ridge were the better team in the second half.

They hit Discovery Canyon with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Liam Doyle, Lane Bernbeck, and Kai Furrer.

Palmer Ridge's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-5-1. As for Lutheran, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-4-1.

Lutheran beat Palmer Ridge 2-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
