Volleyball Recap: Statesboro Comes Up Short

Statesboro lost against St. Vincent back in September of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Blue Devils took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Saints.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-19.

Olyana Deckard paced Statesboro's offense, picking up seven kills. Deckard got some help from Phoebe Hansen and her 18 assists.

Among those leading the charge was Sophie Chu-Dy, who had 11 digs and two assists.

Statesboro's defeat dropped their record down to 26-13. As for St. Vincent's, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 31-10 record this season.

Statesboro didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Effingham County on the 2nd. As for St. Vincent's, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Savannah Country Day on the 7th.
