Vicksburg is 3-0 against Columbus since January of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Vicksburg Gators will face off against the Columbus Falcons at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Vicksburg is headed into Friday's matchup hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They took a hard 71-57 fall against Jackson Prep on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while the Patriots are ranked ninth).

Meanwhile, Columbus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 38-35 heartbreaker at the hands of Ridgeland. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Falcons have suffered since November 18, 2023.

Columbus' loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Vicksburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

Vicksburg beat Columbus 42-34 when the teams last played back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for Vicksburg since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
