It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Union Pines had no problem doing just that on Friday. They claimed a resounding 35-0 win over the Lee County Yellow Jackets. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won eight games by 22 points or more so far this season.

Leading Union Pines to victory were Adrian Colon and Ian Hicks. Colon gained 117 total yards and three touchdowns, while Hicks threw for 225 yards and three TDs while completing 85% of his passes. Those 225 passing yards gave Hicks a new career-high.

Union Pines didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jonah Thienel and Tyson Davis. Another thorn in Lee County's side was Elijah Clayton, who picked up two sacks and made eight total tackles.

Union Pines' victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.0 points over those games. As for Lee County, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Union Pines wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 17-7 victory against Williams on the 21st. Lee County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
