Softball Recap: McKinney Comes Up Short

After flying high against Princeton last Tuesday, McKinney came back down to earth. The Lions came up short against the Plano West Wolves on Friday, falling 14-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Wolves: they've now lost five in a row.

Abbi James made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

McKinney's loss dropped their record down to 3-22-1. As for Plano West, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. McKinney is set to face off against their familiar foe Prosper at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Plano West will take on rival Allen at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
