Basketball Recap: Gate City Comes Up Short

Gate City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 60-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lee Generals. The Blue Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Generals earlier this season, when they won 74-32.

Gate City's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Lee, they moved to 7-9 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gate City will head out to square off against Hampton at 12:00 p.m. on February 8th. As for Lee, they are taking a road trip to challenge John Battle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
