Basketball Game Preview: Boles Hornets vs. Cooper Bulldogs

Boles hasn't had much luck against Cooper recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Boles Hornets will take on the Cooper Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. Boles is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

Boles is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Pioneer Technology & Arts Academy: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Boles blew Pioneer Technology & Arts Academy out of the water with a 52-6 final score. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 681st, while Pioneer Technology & Arts Academy are ranked 1454th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Cooper unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 46-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Como-Pickton.

Boles has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.4 points per game. As for Cooper, their loss dropped their record down to 14-13.

Boles strolled past Cooper when the teams last played on January 3rd by a score of 47-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for Boles since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
